The Museu do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow) is a project by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and was built next to Praça Mauá, in the port area. Today it is one of the city’s main cultural attractions. One of the reasons the museum was built was to strengthen Rio’s cultural and international identity.
As one of the anchors of the urban revitalization project called Porto Maravilha, the museum received in 2015, as a donation, the sculpture Puffed Star II, by the renowned American artist Frank Stella.
The purpose of the museum is to make visitors aware of their contribution to the future. It is a sensory experience, made through interactive technologies.
The Museum of Tomorrow is approximately a 10-minute walk from the Belga Hotel.
